Organizational Cultural Competence Assessment
The South Carolina Department of Mental Health has embarked upon a system-wide cultural competence assessment. OMG conducted an introductory session in Columbia, SC with about twenty participants from across the state. Participants unable to attend joined the session via video conferencing. OMG is providing on-going training and technical assistance through out the assessment process. |

Diversity Bridge
Dr. Patricia Larkins Hicks is serving as Planning Consultant to the Columbus Chamber. She recently facilitated the Diversity Bridge Launch that included gathering baseline data from approx. 150 attendees including minority business owners, government agencies, service providers and corporations. Dr. Hicks will lead the research team that will evaluate the effectiveness and economic impact of the Diversity Bridge Initiative. Click here to view the Comprehensive Strategic Plan.

Team Building
Members of the Ohio State University Office of Controller’s management team participated in a team building retreat led by Dr. Patricia Hicks, OMG President. This retreat focused on “Building on Our Strengths to Be the Best that We Can Be- Leveraging Our Assets.” The framework developed by Buckingham& Clifton in NOW, Discover Your Strengths (2001) was used to guide the retreat format and activities |

Program Evaluation
OMG’s Education Management software is being customized to meet the needs of the City of Columbus, Office of Education, Capital Kids Program. This program provides an opportunity for on-line registration, profiling of students, parents, guardians, tutors, and staff. Additionally, the software allows for a central repository of both program and school information. This feature facilitates data collection and analysis that compares student performance in the after school program and its impact on academic success. Another unique feature of the program is its capacity to provide preformatted and customized reports.
